Mediacom Cable TV Service

The February 2009 issue of Consumer Reports magazine has their ratings of Internet , phone, and TV service.  Mediacom is rated the worst out of 16 TV service companies, which includes both cable and satellite.  They get the lowest scores on reliability, channel selection, picture, and sound.  Mediacom internet service is rated number 22 out of 25 companies rated.  I was told that  Mediacom has High Definition service in Phoenix, but not here.  It is reported that a subscriber asked about HD service and was told by an employee that, "this is Nogales."

 

 

Is that the best explanation for service in Nogales?  Considering the frequent increases in rates, are we to believe that Mediacom is providing good service at a reasonable price?  My monthly bill is approaching $100 with only basic service and one movie package.

    " God Bless Mediacom and its monopoly! After the switch to digital (which will not happen officially until June) 48 'regular' channels do not work! Is Mediacom going to reimburse us or give us credit for the channels with poor digital signal or with no signal at all???     " Yeah, It is one of the most expensive -(being the ONLY cable TV provider in Nogalitos with no competition) in Arizona and a great part of the US. Any other cable company wanting to compete would have to use their infrastructure or spend millions of dollars to deploy new cable runs . Let's ALL switch to DirecTV!!! "
