Mediacom Cable TV Service

The February 2009 issue of Consumer Reports magazine has their ratings of Internet , phone, and TV service. Mediacom is rated the worst out of 16 TV service companies, which includes both cable and satellite. They get the lowest scores on reliability, channel selection, picture, and sound. Mediacom internet service is rated number 22 out of 25 companies rated. I was told that Mediacom has High Definition service in Phoenix, but not here. It is reported that a subscriber asked about HD service and was told by an employee that, "this is Nogales."

Is that the best explanation for service in Nogales? Considering the frequent increases in rates, are we to believe that Mediacom is providing good service at a reasonable price? My monthly bill is approaching $100 with only basic service and one movie package.

" My mom has 3 days without cable, mediacom hasn't been able to get it up and running. On tuesday they called her from mediacom but like she didn't speak spanish they hung up on her. !!!!! What company hangs up on there customer??.. I have Direct Tv and its the best!! Everybody should change to Direct Tv you will not regret! "

Is Mediacom going to reimburse us or give us credit for the channels with poor digital signal or with no signal at all??? " My parents have Mediacom.. they called to have their t.v.s set up...the guy who went out there told them the bran new tv's would not work without a box..mind you these tv's have digital already installed? I went over and programmed the tv's to search for digital channels..IMAGINE what happened... they had tv channels again! What a rip off this company is!! "

" After moving from San Diego to Nogales I was really shocked that this was the only High Speed Internet Service Provider in the area. It's absolutely ridiculous that this is happening. Maybe just maybe the so called "Big Dogs" of Nogales/ Rio Rico look into this problem and give middle/lower class citizens a chance. " Yeah, It is one of the most expensive -(being the ONLY cable TV provider in Nogalitos with no competition) in Arizona and a great part of the US. Any other cable company wanting to compete would have to use their infrastructure or spend millions of dollars to deploy new cable runs . Let's ALL switch to DirecTV!!! "
