Thanks to all I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and to thank our Santa Cruz County Young Audiences and Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35 for their support of the Rio Rico Thespians and the Theatre Arts/Dance program at Rio Rico High School. This year, our students have been able to attend Arizona Theatre Company’s touching production of “A Raisin in the Sun,” UA Presents exciting dance show, “Carlota Santana Flamenco Dance,” and The Acting Company/Guthrie Theater’s outstanding production of William Shakespeare’s “King Henry V.” Young Audiences has for more than 20 years contributed to the cultural stimulation and edification of our students in Santa Cruz County and my students have been afforded the opportunities to expand their minds, their hearts and their world views through the experiences of live theatre performances. Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35 has also been a partner with Young Audiences as it has contributed funding and support for these programs and has demonstrated an understanding of the important role that the performing arts play in our students’ development and education. I would also like to mention that our Rio Rico students are consistently complimented on their appearance and their behavior at these events. They represent our school and our community as respectful and interesting young people and I am always proud to be with them. Celia Concannon Rio Rico High School |
