In 2007 residents in the vicinity of the Potrero Ranch in Tumacacori expressed concerns about the prospect of “a cult” moving into the neighborhood. (see related stories below) However, regardless of what others may think about the Global Communities Communication Alliance as an organization and culture, the local residents should be aware that the group has shown itself to be a good neighbor.

Positive contributions to the area include adopting a section of the West Frontage Road near Tubac to control litter and participating in a community assets workshop to help identify ways to improve our area. More dramatic is the aid they have offered in controling the spate of wildfires in the Tubac area. Most recently a crew from Avalon Gardens, Arlen Munro, Kamon Lilly, and Kaileen Fitzpatrick, prevented the destruction of a house under construction on Camino Olympia by suppressing the flames from a burning motor home until units from the Tubac Fire Department arrived.
The beliefs and practices of the GCCA may never be completely embraced by the community, but the group's behavior as good neighbors should be applauded.

My grandfather, who just passed at 102 years of age, was helped through passing by the Soulistic Hospice, and they are simply the most caring and friendly people I have ever met.
Fortunately, we live in a country that tries to be open to all religions, big or small. I am proud to call the GCCA a neighbor. "
