Four of the 19 survivors of a deadly SUV rollover near Sonoita last weekend have been verified as being from Mexico. Socorro Cordova, of the Mexican Consulate, said the male subjects were from the states of Nayarit, Sinaloa and Sonora. Two of the men are stable condition and the other two men are in the custody of Border Patrol. Cordova said the mens’ families have been notified and their names would be released in a few days.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), which is investigating the cause of the accident, said on Wednesday it has no new information on the June 6 rollover.

“We can confirm there were eight fatalities. We've put out no news release since June 7,” said Bart Graves, DPS Media Relations Coordinator.

The accident occurred just before midnight approximately four miles east of Sonoita on State Route 82. The 2000 Ford Excursion was carrying 27 undocumented migrants, the majority from countries in Central America, officials said.
