City ready to celebrate 4th of July in Nogales

Whether you come for family fun, the parade, the music, food or fireworks, come out and join the fun in Nogales on July 4th.

In honor of Independence Day, the City Nogales is hosting the annual Fourth of July Fireworks at Fleischer Park on Saturday, July 4. Spectacular fireworks will be displayed starting at approximately 8:45 p.m.

The theme for this daylong celebration is "America, Standing Strong."

The celebration will kick off with the race registration at 5:30 a.m. The race/walk will start at Pierson Park and will end at Fleischer Park. The grand Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park.

There will be two Grand Marshals this year: Gaston Ortega and Victor Yanez, members of the Nogales Police Department and war veterans, will be honored during the celebrations.

After the parade the fun will continue at Fleisher Park with games, food, live entertainment and fun for the entire family. Different music groups will be the featured with patriotic performances throughout the day.

The afternoon program will begin at 5 p.m. The Borderline Band, Raize Latina, Jazz Band will headline the entertainment with local performers.

Big bangs

Fantastic fireworks will light up the sky at approximately 8:45 p.m. The fireworks will be choreographed to patriotic music.
