The Tubac Presidio

State Historic Park will be the site of free games for the kids from 10-11:30 a.m. on July 4, 2009. Children will can enjoy old-fashioned games such as cake-walks, water balloon toss, Hula Hoops, face painting, crafts and more. The games are organized by the Tubac Chamber of Commerce with help from local non-profit organizations. Games, prizes, hot dogs and watermelon will be provided free to children. Park admission will be free during game hours. Donations of canned food for the Amado Food Bank will be accepted at the park entrance, but are not required for admission. 

Many Tubac art galleries, artist studios and shops will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Restaurants will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. 

The Tubac Golf Resort will host a fireworks display in the evening. Gates open at 4 p.m. and fireworks begin at 8:45 p.m. Parking fee is $7 per car. Bring a blanket or chair; but no coolers. The Resort is offering a VIP package: $35 adults/$15 kids to include a ranch style barecue buffet, special seating to view fireworks and parking. For VIP reservations, call (520) 398-3545.
