And yet we have an elected Government that wants to spend trillions more. Why? Our elected Government wants us to believe that we must pass the healthcare bill and the cap and trade bills now. Why? Our CBO says we can not afford it. Normal American citizens know we cant afford it, and yet the elected Government is pushing forward anyway. Why?The elected Government is giving money to organizations like SEIU, ACORN and AmeriCorp. Just released was 5 billion dollars our OUR tax money to Americorp. Why? We are losing access to many publically owned lands Why?
Why is all this happening at the same time? WHY?
If I had the answers, I would probably not ask why, but cover up in a hole somewhere. Maybe I will still have to, I am not sure. But its an honest question, isnt it? I have the right to ask why dont I?
ANYBODY! Do you know why? Can you clue a guy in? Are you privy to some secret knowledge as to why this is all happening at the same time? Some raise their eyes to the skies and say "The sky is falling" or "Its the end times!". Some want to lay blame solely on old Bush, even when we know in our heart of hearts that this has been building long before Bush.
Some believe that the country is ripe for a monumental take over. A total rebuilding of America. A nasty Socialist takeover. maybe so, I kinda feel that way myself. I simply dont like the fact that our elected Government is taking control of EVERYTHING! Why? am I now scared of our elected Government? Is this the same elected Governent that so many of us volunteered to serve? It doesnt seem so. It doesnt seem like this is the country that I have loved for 51 years. But sitting down here in the ass crack of America, I wonder if anyone cares? Down here alone on the border, I have seen much. I have seen the drug dealers and the illegal invaders. I peer out through the internet portal and watch the country change. I watch ALL the news broadcasts and wonder what happens next? Am I alone? Do you guys worry too? Do you guys want the nation to change into a Socialist nation? Do you want our borders to remain open so drugs, gangs and violence keep pouring into our country?
Am I alone in all these feelings? Is our country not totally screwed up and getting worse? Is it freakin' just me? Should I drink the Kool Aid and join the party?
Why if I question what my elected Government does against my wishes, am I labeled "unAmerican"? Why if I dont want my country to pay for illegal immigrants Healthcare, am I labeled a "Racist"? Why when I state that I believe both sides of the elected Government are screwed up and that I believe its not just the current elected Governments fault, do people insist that it was all the previous elected Governments fault. I FREAKIN" KNOW that it was part their fault. Are you actualy going to have me believe that 8 years of one elected Governments doings are the cause that will lose over 200 years worth of a nation? If you are trying to get me to believe that, it aint gonna work!
I have to tell you what I believe. I mean I HAVE to tell you. This is my country. Its MY country. I earned it, I have paid 35 years worth of taxes. I have served in my countries armed services. Hell I LOST FREAKIN body parts in service to my country..........
We are losing it. Some on here will say, "Hell Sonny, you have lost it". haha yeah well it was a short trip boys. But we are losing it. We are losing our country from within.. In my beliefs, if we are to go down the road that Reg and others want us to go down, we have lost. I have lost. You have lost. I have NO DOUBTS that it is coming. That the impact to our culteral beliefs as a nation, is being demonstrated by a leftist elected Government with designs on total control, I can not deny.
I feel alone down here. my thoughts and disagreements, seem to make me an "Enemy of the Country". You know what? All I want to ask is........why?

In my eyes, all are one. The blame is one.
The blame does not lie with any one entity, be it political or religious. It lies with us. It is our blame, because we have not acted upon our convictions. We have allowed ourselves to be led down this path.
Recently, Americans have started to band together to enforce our rights. To take back our freedoms lost. While we will never have Utopia on Earth, it is the path we choose, during our journey, that defines us. Religion, Political affiliations, everything is but a crutch on that path and are given to fail, because they are controlled by human failings.
It is our responsibility to try and do the right thing, no matter what. As a Centrist, I see good parts of both the right and the left.
But until we are determined to do the right thing, we all must live with the path we are on, be it one of our choosing or one that we have allowed to be chosen for us. "

1. The first is that we almost always vote the incumbent back into office until he is so old the cannot find his way to Washington.
2. We have allowed our congress persons to untold wealth from Corporations.and lobbyests.
3. Just watch the politicial news on anything other than Fox news; and you can hear the truth. Republicans who have received millions of dollars for their next election, along with commitments for the 2012 Elections. Received from the insurance, Pharmicutial Companies, Medical Corporations, etc. That is what is being talked about a lot over the last week, I would bet my last buck that the democrats are receiving equal amounts from lobbyists representing the corporations who favor Health Care Reform. Our politicians no longer report to the people, they report and represent the lobbyists and the corporations that they represent.
So, if you understand that the congress is owned and operated by the corporations, and not we the people, Nothing will change until we change our elections process. First, set an exact amount of dollars that each candidate will be allowed to spend in each district and issue that exact amount of Tax dollars. It must be tightly controlled.
Shorten the election time frame. No more than 90 days; 30 days for primary, and 60 for the election. Until that or some kind of control over expenditure and time, The wealthy elite and their corporation friends will always be able to run our country. Over the last 50 years to call our country a democracy is a misnomer. "

FYI, I am a Democrat and have always been.
I am not blaming Demcrats, especially since I do not believe that outside of Joe Liebberman, there are no more real Democrats in Congress.
Besides, the Demcrats were in charge of Congress for most of the past 50 years, so how is it that the last 40 years have been under "conservative" rule? There is no such party in America. Or have you fallen for the idea that in order to be a Republican you must be conservative and in order to be a Democrate you must be liberal? "

in such a short period of time. Is it just by chance that we had a major recession during the Nixon years? Is it just that during the Reagan years, we had close to another meltdown? (wiped our all of our local savings and loan banks) Is it just by chance that we followed that with a serious recession during the George H. W. Bush years? That is followed with 8 good years with Clinton; a time when we had it so good, that we had a balanced budget, and was in the process of paying off our debt? Then that is followed with G.W. Bush who succeeds in finishing the Reagan Meltdown? Something is wrong, and I am no where near being smart enough to know what it is. Maybe one of you gentlemen can tell me. "

How is it possible for you to be so blind to the truth? How can you not see
the problem when it is right in front of you.
Look straight ahead, into a mirror, the the fault looks right back at you. To blame the Democrats for our problems can only be concluded as not paying attention, or just not understanding what has been going on for the last 40 years.
Go out to a store any store, and purchase a product that is made in America. Most of the manufacturing jobs no longer exist. Look at you community,
Most of the "mom and pop" business' no longer exist. Look for your local small savings and loan bank It no longer exists? Look for the small farms that used to exist. Where have they gone?
Take a look at the infrastructor and how run down it is. Where is you locally owned energy company? Where is your locally owned water company? Where is the little store that sold locally grown produce, dairy products, etc.
There's more, but it will take too much to write down all that is gone.
Your community no longer is self sustaining. Your County is no longer self sustaining; and our Country is no longer self sustaining.
After 40 years of conservatism, our communities are no longer creating wealth. The wealth is going to the "Big Box Business' and the corporations that own them. Just take a little time, and was how many armored trucks pull into our comminity load up with the cash, and head right out of town. Even our restaurants are Corporation Franchises.
The very life blood is being sucked our of our communitiesby the big corporations.
Right in front of our eyes. Until we find a way to become self sustaining and wealth creating communities, it will only get worst. "

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that of that 47 million, about 12 million or so are citizens that truly do not have health insurance coverage and want it but cannot get it because of their situation.
Please remember that per President Obama in his Townhall in Portsmouth, NH, he said that the insurance companies and the drug companies were on board with him and his plan. You can take from that what that means about the plan they are trying to pass.
You are right about the idiots at both ends of the political system. Just as you know have a pastor praying for Obama's Death, you had pastors that were praying for Bush's Death. Both sets are not behaving in an acceptable manner, but it is still within their Constitutional Rights to say it, and I will, begrudgingly, defend their right to say it.
I have my own Ideas for health care that I have shared multiple times with our Congressional leaders, only to get the same form letter back.
1 - Torte and Medical Malpractice Insurance Reform. Doctors are human and some mistakes, especially minor ones, are to be anticipated. Afterall, contrary to what the lawyers want us to believe, there is no such thing as a risk free medial treatement or procedure.
2 - Changes to health insurance. Allow health insurance to be purchased accorss state lines. Allow small businesses to group together (on their own without any government running of a program) to negotiate for health insurance coverages like larger businesses. Mandate that your health insurance will last a minimum of 60 days after you leave your employment (unless termintated for criminal activity). Make it illegal for coverage to be dropped or denied because of a "pre-existing" condition.
3- Reinstate physical education back into the elementary and secondary schools.
4 - Our government needs to work with other developed nations to raise there price caps so Americans are not shouldering the majority of the costs associated with developing new treatements and medicines. "

You may not like the bank bailout they initiated, but I give them credit for recognizing the risk this country faced while teetering on the bring of financial ruin. Ruin, I might add, that was furthered along by decades of deregulation.
Evidence of this deep recession, which we now know began in Dec. of 2007, is echoed by people the world over. Some people wanted the auto makers to fail too. As much as a third of the economy can be tied back to one of our only remaining industrial bases, but let 'em fail. Then, when we need our industrial base to help protect our country, we can go buy our weapons systems from the cheap labor in Asia. The economy has stabilized, some of the TARP funds have been paid back at a profit, and we're still working our way toward rebuilding from the mess that comes from having a ship meandering without a rudder. That's my anology for years of government led by people who do not believe in government.
Now you're all troubled about trying to do something about healthcare. The costs are growing and growing in our uniquely American system. And rather than do what it takes to put the fear of god into the people that are squeezing dollars from every American family, you run around drooling about socialism.
You just want to know "why?" All you need to do is point that finger at your chest my friend to know how we got here. "

Thank you for agreeing in part with me, we can disagree on the signs and buses, that's not the real issue.
The issue is how many congressmen are in the pockets of the Insurance and Pharmaceutical companies; it is those companies that are pushing the buttons and calling the shots to protect their "Goose with the golden egg".
Again, my thoughts are that Capitalism is OK as long as everyone is playing by the rules, but once the system is bent to favor those who have the most money or the better lawyers, it is really hard for everyone else to keep up.
I feel that in this country we need to both celebrate individual success, as well as be our "brother's keeper". Not everyone of those 47 million uninsured americans are "Leeches", "Illegals", "criminals", "Lazy people who don't want to work", etc. They are people that are desperate, who have been abandoned by their government, which seems to have more important priorities overseas, who can't get a job because they have all been outsourced, but still have been offered credit cards by predatory lenders, all in the name of making a buck out of their misery.
We need to change the tone in this country. We are in the same boat together. We have no place for preachers who "Pray for Obama's Death" and I hope to see more people on both sides of the aisle condemn his actions; that is not freedom of speech.
Healthcare is the biggest issue for our times and something must be resolved, our system is broken. "

It turned my stomach when all those jobs were being "outsourced", not only that, but they figured out a way to get tax credits for that too!! American corporations moving their operations to foreign lands so they could avoid both our taxes and get the cheapest labor costs. Where is their loyalty?
No bid contracts for military contractors, all with some kind of an "in" with the government, all that excessive spending on Defense. Who is taking care of our people? It is offensive that our country will not help out people with no health insurance, who are forced to pick between buying food or meds.
We need a lot more of a change that Obama can provide on his own. There needs to be a nationwide grass roots movement to "Take Back our Nation". and stop with the Town Halls. They have just become a stage for paid, well trained agitators to shout down any reasonable conversation. "

The Democratic Party has been taken over by a bunch of Socialists. They are utilizing the Rules for Radicals to try to drive out the voices of opposition to their march towards a socialist state.
"Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It's hard to counterattack ridicule and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage."
"Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy."
"Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions."
These are the rules the powers that be seem to be operating under, straight out of Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals. "
