Insane tax bill

Outraged taxpayer

Just received my taxes and couldn't believe my eyes!

I called Fuentes' office and was told he "stepped out" -  I asked when he would be stepping "back in" and was told Monday.   Beautiful, he's out right when taxes go out.  One would think this would be an important time  to be in the office - but not if you don't want to hear your phone ringing off the hook from outraged taxpayers.  Common sense would dictate that now would not be a good time to "step out", but then again we are talking about Nogales where common sense is not so common.

Add to this 10% school tax that is on your tax bill and then another possible 10-15% additional for next year depending on the November override vote.  It's not like Santa Cruz County is graduating potential Harvard candidates out of these schools.  "Would you like to supersize that order?" seems to be more the norm.

Let's hold these supervisors accountable.  This is an open call for John Maynard to meet with the residents of Sonoita and address this tax situation -  and please, make sure you don't "step out" on us too!
