Sahuaro Girl Scout Troop 1386 held an investiture and rededication ceremony on Sept. 19 in Nogales.

Eleven second- and third-grade girls from Troop 1386 rededicated their time to another year of Girl Scouts with the traditional investiture ceremony, using candles that symbolize the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Reregistered girls, Mia Valdez, Lauren Clerc, Samantha Bonillas, Isabela Martinez, Mijal Montanez-Nerey, Cylesce Aguilera and Rebecca Molina were pinned by leader Patty Molina with the membership star signifying another year dedicated to girl scouts.

New girls, Karla Montoya, Oliani Ramirez, Melissa Ochoa and Alexis Ahumada were pinned with an upside down Brownie pin, which can not be turned around until the girl commits a good deed. The girls were pinned by Junior Girl Scout Cristina Molina from Troop 1667, along with upcoming Junior Girl Scouts, Nikole Bonillas and Dominique Pierce, who will bridge to Junior Girl Scouts in October.
