Girl Scouts bridge and rededicate at ceremony

Sahuaro Girl Scout Troop 1667 held a bridging and rededication ceremony on Oct. 2 at Peña Blanca Elementary in Rio Rico.

Four fifth-grade girls; Brenda Lizarraga, Cristina Molina, Ana Sofia Robles and Elyline Velasquez rededicated their time to another year of Girl Scouts with the ceremony using candles that symbolize the Girl Scout Promise and Law that girls commit to during their Girl Scout years.

The girls were pinned by leader Patty Molina with the membership star signifying another year dedicated to Girl Scouts. Eleven girls in fourth grade bridged from Brownie level to Junior level. Bridging Girl Scouts included: Adeline Aguilera, Nikole Bonillas, Suzette de la Rosa, Andrea Duarte, Yalitza Garcia, Esmeralda Leon, Ariday Lopez, Kayla Navarro, Dominique Pierce, Paola Ramos and Michelle Garcia-Romero.

As each girl crossed a make-shift bridge, she was met by a Junior Girl Scout, pinned with an upside down Junior pin until the girl commits a good deed. Three new girls joined Junior Troop 1667 and were pinned and welcomed. New girls include: Karime Leon, Bianca Torres and Kiara Villaescusa.
