Army officer to address the PWC on Thursday

Capt. Matthew McGuire will be guest speaker at the Patagonia Woman's Club on Thursday, Nov. 5, in Cady Hall at 1:15 p.m. McGuire served in the Judge Advocate General's Corp in Iraq from September 2008-June 2009.

He will discuss his experiences in the U.S. Army Reserve, which he joined in 2001. While on active duty in Iraq, he was at Camp Bucca in Basra and Camp Cropper in Baghdad.

Mcguire lives with his family in Patagonia where he has been a resident since 1995. He is a lawyer specializing in real estate, business transactions and federal criminal defense. He will attend the officer advanced course at the U.S. Army JAGC School at the University of Virginia in January. 

The Woman's Club will be have its traditional potluck Thanksgiving luncheon at noon on Nov. 5t Anyone wishing to attend should bring a side dish or dessert for 8 by 11:45 a.m. Cady Hall is on Duquesne Avenue next to the Patagonia Library.
