Nogales man dies after an injury in Tubac

A Nogales man was airlifted to a Tucson hospital after being injured at a construction site near the Tubac Golf Resort on Wednesday. Hector Gonzales, 57, later died at University Medical Center (UMC).

Chief Kevin Keeley of the Tubac Fire Department said two ambulances responded to a construction site at No. 4 Calle Cielito in Tubac withing 10 minutes of the 8:58 a.m. call.

“They told us he had fallen off a ladder,” said Keeley.

By 9:20 a.m. Keeley said the patient was ready to be airlifted. Lifeline 3, a helicopter from Carondelet Holy Cross Hospital in Nogales, flew the patient to UMC.
