While World War II veterans were recognized as co-grand marshals of Wednesday’s parade, a moment of silence also was held during the ensuing ceremony in honor of the 13 U.S. Army servicemen who died Nov. 6 at Fort Hood, Texas, in an unprovoked attack by a distraught soldier.

The Nogales Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion were in charge of arrangements for the day, which culminated with free refreshments and snacks at the VFW Hall.
