Rotary honors one student from each county school “who best demonstrates the principles of the 4-Way-Test through actions and beliefs, model of good citizenship, and positive interaction with other students,” according to Rotary.

Each school uses these criteria about the student’s words and deeds:

Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Each winner received a certificate and a book for his or her school library.

The elementary school winners are: Luis Angel Lucero, AJ Mitchell; Vivian Arellano, Bracker; Fernando Castro, Challenger; Daniela Romero Coronado; Luis Silva, Lincoln; Paola Morales, Mary L. Welty; Yamelle Gonzalez, Lourdes Catholic School; Karla Paola Hernandez, Sacred Heart School; and Jose Angel Garcia, Mexicayotl Charter School.

Middle school winners are: Izak Berrellez, Desert Shadows; Juan Antonio Durazo, Lourdes Catholic; Serina Batista, Mexicayotl; Maria De Lourdes Hernandez Gil, Sacred Heart; Zachary Silva, Wade Carpenter: and Nayeli Guerrero, Pimeria Alta Academy. High school winners are: Peter Vela, Nogales High School; Samiyy Gabriel Ismael Qadir Rheinhardt, Pierson Vocational; Irma Figueroa, Lourdes Catholic High School; Janel Dorame, Pinnacle Charter; and Francisco Valdez, Pimeria Alta Academy.
