Federal inspectors at the Morley Avenue pedestrian border crossing found $70,000 in crystal meth in a can of powdered milk.

On Tuesday, Feb. 2, at about 12:30 p.m., CBP officers were screening pedestrians at the Morley gate when they became suspicious of a Nogales woman.

Officers searched her belongings and found that a can of powdered milk she was carrying had a plastic bag of crystal meth concealed in the bottom of the can. The crystal meth weighed more than 1.5 pounds and had an estimated street value of more than $70,000.

CBP officers seized the meth. The woman was turned over to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation and prosecution.
