Representatives of the South Eastern Community Action Program (SEACAP) visited Nogales recently to explain to various agencies how low-income families in Santa Cruz County can receive financial assistance and other help.
During the Sept. 1 meeting at Hilltop gallery, SEACAP Executive Director Librado Ramirez discussed how low-income families who are behind on their mortgage, rent or utility bills can find help. He explained how people can apply for appliance repairs or replacement, including water heaters, furnaces, coolers and air conditioners at no cost.
Assistance is also available for replacing or sealing doors and windows to maintain heat or cool air to help lower families' utility bills.
SEACAP's offices in Nogales are at 490 N. Chenoweth Ave. For more information, call (520) 287-5066.
