If losing 17-4 to Flowing Wells wasn’t enough on Tuesday (see story on Page 2B), the Rico Rico High Lady Hawks took another one on the chin Wednesday when they hosted the Cholla Chargers.

Lady Cabs romp Rio Rico, 17-4, in mercy-rule game
The entire Flowing Wells High Lady Caballeros lineup scored in the top of the first inning Tuesday at Rio Rico High School, putting the Lady Hawks at a 9-0 disadvantage. As if the top of the first wasn’t enough, Ariel Cauias threw one strikeout in the bottom of the first and the Lady Cabs defense only allowed two other Rio Rico batters to the plate, finishing the inning 9-0.
‘Gimmie Shelter’ set for tomorrow
The "Gimmie Shelter" Charity Golf Tournament is slated to be held tomorrow at Kino Springs Country Club.
Soccer tryouts are set at PCC
Both the Pima Community College men’s and women’s soccer teams will be hosting open tryouts at the Pima CC West Campus soccer fields. Any potential student athletes that wish to attend PCC in the fall, and compete for a position on either team, will have an opportunity to showcase their talents for the current Aztec coaching staffs.
Patagonia to serve up an auction
The 5th Annual Patagonia Doubles Tennis Tournament and Silent Auction are scheduled April 17-18 at Patagonia Union High School on State Route 82. Proceeds and tax-deductible donations will help fund the youth tennis programs and upgrade the high school tennis courts.
