A caregivers education conference set to be held in Nogales aims to provide families and professionals with guidance on caring for a person with dementia, as well as safety and legal issues.
The conference is scheduled to run 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9 at the Santa Cruz County Complex.
“This conference will provide caregivers with the information they need to enhance the quality of care they can provide,” said Kelly Raach, director of the Southern Arizona region of the Alzheimer’s Association. “It is very important that caregivers understand that they don’t have to do this alone as there are resources to support them in this journey.”
Other sponsors include Southeast Arizona Area Health Education Center (SEAHEC), SEAGO Area Agency on Aging, and the Santa Cruz County Case Management Program.
The conference will also include a variety of exhibitor booths that include resources for health, non-profit organizations and care facilities. Refreshments will be provided.
