‘Corazón Migrante’ stops in Nogales during binational tour

Karla Osete, a Nogales artist and muralist, presented multiple paintings in the exhibition. One of Osete’s works depicts a skeleton swathed in layers of color; on its head rests the skull of a deer and its antlers.

Osete said the idea for the traveling exhibition came about during a conference of artists in 2021.

“During those months of work, the idea emerged to organize a show that will travel through the consulates that we each represent,” Osete said.

Already, the exhibit has unfolded in several cities including Las Vegas and Phoenix. When it leaves Nogales later this month, the works will be displayed in El Paso.

The exhibit will be open to the public at the Consulate on Cardwell Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, until March 23.
