Carondelet Holy Cross Hospital says it collected more than 2,500 servings of breakfast cereal during its annual Healthy Over Hungry Cereal Drive.
Hospital employees, volunteers and physicians contributed to the cereal drive, as well as members of the Nogales community. Donations benefit Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
“We’re proud to support the cereal drive. Our community includes children who aren’t able to participate in school meal programs during the summer, and the cereal donations will help families in need,” Holy Cross Hospital CEO Debra Knapheide said in a news release.
A total of more than 92,000 servings of breakfast foods were collected across Carondelet Health Network during the 2019 cereal drive, according to the news release. The network also includes St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s hospitals in Tucson, and Carondelet Medical Group doctors’ offices.
