Pimeria Alta camp

Friends Yazmin Baldenegro and Luna Yoder work on an art project at the Pimeria Alta Historical Society summer camp in 2016.

Registration for Camp Kino, set to run July 8-13, is now open at the Pimeria Alta Museum in Nogales.

Children ages 7 to 12 are welcome to attend this free program, which includes lunch and snacks.

The camp runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily at the museum located at 136 Grand Avenue. This year’s theme is “Traveling back in time.”

Campers will participate in arts and crafts, games and music, and will have a chance to create their own hand-made period toys. Participants will also learn about their heritage and create their own family tree.

The highlight of the week will be a trip to the Tubac Presidio State Historic Park.

Register in person at the museum or call (520) 287-4521. The museum is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
