Sixteen people or groups of people who made important contributions to the Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35 comprise the inaugural class of the SCV35 Distinguished Hall of Fame.
They’ll be officially welcomed to the Hall of Fame during an induction ceremony on Sept. 15 at Rio Rico High School.
“We hope to make this an incredible event for our inductees and their guests,” said John Fanning, chair of the judging committee.
The inaugural class includes people who made significant contributions to the district as teachers, staff, students, administrators, school board members and community supporters. It also includes two state championship sports teams from Rio Rico High School.
The Sept. 15 ceremony will not be open to the public, but members of the community can watch the ceremony live online, starting at 6:30 p.m. More information can also be found on the scv35.org Hall of Fame page.
Inductees were nominated by their colleagues and peers and selected by a judging committee of SCV35 staff and community members.
“Our district has had some incredible individuals/teams, and this is a wonderful way to acknowledge and celebrate their many achievements,” Fanning said.
