Local children have a new place to cool off now that the City of Nogales turned the splash pad in Jesus Cordova Park back on after shutting it down in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s already providing welcome fun and relief for kids as temperatures rise again following a rainy and relatively cool start to the month.

The high at the airport on Sunday was 99, according to the National Weather Service in Tucson. The previous four daily highs were 100, 100, 101 and 100.
