When Jorge Andres Armenta starts his studies at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. in August, he will join three other Nogales High School graduates who are already there.
NHS business teacher Marcia Mendoza said NHS alumni currently attending Stanford are Cristina Marie Brentley, a senior majoring in human biology; Alejandra Orozco, a sophomore with a major in economics; and Luis Mario Alcaraz, a sophomore pursuing an engineering degree.
In his senior statement, Armenta noted his passion for business, technology and engineering, and said he planned to major in management science and engineering.
“This field of study excites me because of its great potential in the modern, technological world and the ample career pathways it opens,” he wrote. “Stanford is the place where the future is being created, and it fills me with great honor to be part of that change that creates the next groundbreaking innovation.”
