Twenty-five students took turns receiving their diplomas from Pierson High School in Nogales on Wednesday, May 19.

Each graduate was given a 15-minute personal ceremony in the courtyard of the school’s Roosevelt building, which began with lead teacher/counselor Lilian Bernal offering words of congratulation and encouragement before awarding the graduates their diplomas in front of family and school faculty/staff.

Then, with the Pharell Williams song “Happy” as the soundtrack, everyone celebrated in front of a giant “2021” cutout with photos and cap-tossing, before the process was repeated for the next grad.
