Three candidates are running for Santa Cruz County supervisor in District 3, which includes the east side of Rio Rico, Tumacacori, Tubac and Amado, and all of Eastern Santa Cruz County. Incumbent Bruce Bracker, bidding for a second term, advanced to the general election by winning an uncontested Democratic primary. He faces two Independents: Donna Federici and Justin Luna.
County supervisors serve four-year terms and earn an annual salary of $63,800.
The NI recently interviewed the three candidates via telephone. They were given one minute to answer each question and the questions were not provided in advance. Some of their answers have been paraphrased or edited for clarity or space. Candidates submitted the sidebar questionnaire and a photo.
