Members of the local community will have four chances next week to learn about and react to proposed changes to the Santa Cruz County Floodplain and Erosion Hazard Management Ordinance.
The Santa Cruz County Flood Control District, which is proposing the changes, is planning public meetings at sites in Nogales, Rio Rico, Sonoita and Tubac.
“The meetings will start with a one-hour open house for the public to be able to review the proposed changes, followed by a short presentation and a question-and-answer session,” the district announced on its Facebook page.
The scheduled meetings are as follows:
• Sonoita: 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at the County East Facility, 3147 State Route 83.
• Nogales: 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors meeting room, 2150 N. Congress Dr.
• Tubac: 3 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Tubac Community Center 50 Bridge Rd.
• Rio Rico: 6 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Gabilondo-Zehentner Building, 275 Rio Rico Dr.
