Last Thursday, as my son hopped in the backseat of the car on his last day of sixth grade, he and I each breathed a huge sigh of relief.

For him, the relief came from the fact that he'd made it through what turned out to be a rather difficult year. He was looking forward to a break from the pressures of grades and testing. I, on the other hand, was just happy that, for at least a few months, I wouldn't have to worry about getting that phone call.
