The Nogales High School boys soccer team remained undefeated on the season when they downed the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks 2-0 at home on Wednesday.

Angel Castro got NHS on the board with 21:28 left in the first half when he beat the Ironwood Ridge goalkeeper in front of the net.

The Nogales offense continued to pummel the Nighthawks goalie with shots, but the game remained 1-0 until Roberto Castaneda scored on a left-footed blast with 11:06 left in the contest.

Nikolas Molina recorded the shutout in goal for the Apaches.

The win raised Nogales’ record to 4-0-1 in the regular season going into a Thursday night contest at Sahuaro. The Apaches, who also went 4-0 during a preseason tournament, were ranked No. 10 among the state’s 46 5A Conference teams as of noon Thursday.
